On Friday, November 8, 2024, Granger School District held its annual Veterans Day assembly, themed "A Legacy of Loyalty and Service," to honor and celebrate the contributions of our nation's veterans.

Ms. Abbagail Gomez opened the assembly by delivering a stirring rendition of the national anthem. The assembly featured musical performances that highlighted the talents of our students and staff. K-2 students from Roosevelt Elementary School performed "Veterans March," while grades 3-4 students presented "The Brave," both pieces honoring the courage and dedication of our service members. A heartfelt rendition of "Travelin' Soldier" was performed by Miss Corrina Slade and Mr. Matt Johnson, offering a tribute to those who have served.
A special segment was dedicated to recognizing veterans in attendance. ASB members presented certificates of appreciation to each veteran.

The keynote address, titled "Be a Hero," was delivered by Mr. Ron Fleming. Mr. Fleming shared reflections on his experiences, emphasizing the enduring values of courage and all individuals ability to become heros to their fellow citizens. His words offered both a personal perspective on military service and a broader understanding of its impact on our freedoms.
A touching slideshow showcased images of veterans, serving as a visual reminder of the sacrifices made by those in uniform.
Superintendent Dr. Brian Hart concluded the assembly with reflection of service examples and remarks that reinforced the our commitment to honoring veterans and educating students about the importance of service and sacrifice.
Following the assembly, veterans were invited to a reception in the multi-purpose room, prepared by the GHS FCCLA and hosted by the GHS Leadership Class. This gathering provided an opportunity for personal interactions and expressions of gratitude.
The assembly not only honored those who have served but also instilled a deeper appreciation within our students for the liberties they enjoy. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants who made this assembly a meaningful tribute to our veterans.
