Tips for Families During Testing
As we prepare for upcoming state and school assessments, our counseling team is focusing on supporting students with confidence, calmness, and a positive mindset. Testing can sometimes bring up feelings of stress or worry, and we want students to feel prepared and supported during this time.
At school, we are reminding students of simple strategies to help them stay focused and do their best, such as taking deep breaths, using positive self-talk, and taking their time on each question.
Tips for Families During Testing:
Keep routines consistent: A good night’s sleep and a calm morning can make a big difference.
Encourage a positive mindset: Remind your child that tests are a chance to show what they know—not something to fear.
Practice calm-down strategies: Deep breathing or quiet moments can help reduce stress.
Focus on effort, not perfection: Celebrate trying their best rather than getting every answer right.
Stay connected: Encourage your child to talk about how they’re feeling and reassure them that it’s okay to feel nervous.
Together, we can help students approach testing with confidence and resilience. Thank you for your continued support in helping your child feel calm, prepared, and ready to succeed.
